“The heart of a beautiful district” is the motto of the town of Neusäss. Around 22,000 people are at home here in the area between Augsburg and the nature reserve “Augsburg – Westliche Wälder”, the western forest. Eight local communities have established themselves here, four on each side of the river Schmutter. The location is ideal and the town of Neusäss enjoys the benefits of closeness to the city, at the same time at the heart of a lovely surrounding area. Quality of life is very high for the residents of Neusäss.

City life and nature pure. Family-friendly environment with excellent senior citizen residences, the combination of the traditional and the modern – the balance is right in Neusäss. The original eight communities came together through two local administration reforms in the 1970s. On 10th June 1988, Neusäss was granted town status. Today the communes together form the third largest town in the Rural Administration District of Augsburg.

Neusäss is also known as a centre for education. Apart from primary, secondary and grammar schools there is also a state vocational college complex with opportunities for students to qualify for a variety of different professions.

Good traffic connections such as close access to the A8 highway and the B300 federal road together with good bus and rail services enable easy access to the city of Augsburg. The central European railway also runs through the town such that Neusäss has excellent links to national and European traffic networks.

Local recreation areas are provided by the “Naturpark Augsburg - Westliche Wälder" and in the great diversity of country landscapes in and around Neusäss, with numerous hiking trails and cycle paths.
